Slashing Titans Is Crazy Fun But Leaves Me Wanting More with Attack On Titan VR Unbreakable
9Attack on Titan VR Unbreakable has just released into early access and it's been a mixed bag of reviews amongst the community. While I do have some praise for the game I also have some gripes, however, overall I came away with a good impression but wanting more.
★ The game only has 2 chapters with 5 missions per chapter and no boss fights so its extremely short. If you're looking for a full on story, unfortunately you won't find it here. Now where this game really shines is in the combat and movement. Slicing titans and soaring through the air feels fluid, intuitive, and almost natural throughout the game. With well thought out controls, slowdown effects when attacking, and well done wind and slash effects, this particular aspect of the game is where it really shines. The visuals are only OK. While the art style is cartoony and mostly decent, there are pixelated objects, some jagged edges here and there and the smoke doesn't look good but overall it's not terrible. The previously released trailer did it no such justice. The game does have multiple weapons to unlock and a worldwide scoreboard to create replayability but with next to no story the game leaves me wanting more. Overall I find it to be a very fun game but is lacking in depth and visual refinement, however for the low price tag of $5 there's really no reason to pass on this one.
