Slay the Spire - 5 part 1: Applied Lessons
We've learned a lot playing The Silent:
1. Don't take too many powers, even though they disappear from your deck when used until the end of battle. Battles are short so you'll spend a large percentage of time re-applying powers. In the time it takes you to set up a bunch of powers, you could have an enemy dead, which is a bit like a power that randomly gives you free block or prevents a debuff.
2a. Offense is better than defense. Many battles get rapidly worse as they go on. Also, dead enemies continue to be a good thing. You don't even need to spend energy blocking an enemy after it's dead. (I already "knew" this, but had underestimated the magnitude)
2b. Don't remove a Strike if you haven't added anything offensive yet. You can't rely that much on future cards.
3. Campfires are important! Upgrades are highly valuable. Always make sure your route has enough.
And now:
4. Upgrading 2 energy cards is awesome. It's like 2 upgrades for the price of 1.
