Playthrough | Part 21: Menace from the North Eh! 3/3 (OP: Canada Games)
The Lumberjack Games are upon us. Before that though, we get our hands on the area's treasures as well as unlock the next move for Sly, the Lightning Spin. One more thing, Sly 2 has a bug where a mission may unexpectedly replay. Just make sure you save after getting the Lightning Spin, then Quit and afterwards Restart.
Now comes the operation, Canada Games. Sly and his crew take part in the Lumberjack Games. First comes the Log Chopping competition. Murray does well and when Jean Bison has his turn, Bentley uses the Eagle Egg to sabotage his axe swing. But upon scoring, Jean uses some intimidation to make them change the scores. The next event is the Ice Wall Climb. Sly does well and then Jean Bison has his turn. Murray uses a set of grappling hooks to prevent him from reaching the top. I truthfully had a bit of trouble with it by the way. The judges give a score, but Jean's intimidation changes them back. Then the last event, the Log Rolling competition. Bentley does well but as Jean Bison has his turn, Murray realizes that Jean's intimidation has made things impossible for victory. So the team decide to plan on the fly and take out the judges. Sly uses his alarm clock gadget to lure the judges into the cave one by one. They beat them up, take their places and give them the proper score. Sadly, Jean Bison sees their disguises and knocks them out with a club that has the Clockwerk Talons.
The three end up getting captured so they need to find a way out. Murray works to lift the door they're in while Bentley heads down below. Bentley ends up encountering Jean Bison. Jean explains that he and his gang went into their hideout, finding all their Clockwerk Parts. He sold them all off to Arpeggio, along with the Talons. With Arpeggio having all the parts, Clockwerk has what he needs to rebuild Clockwerk. This gets Bentley irate, due to Jean Bison's insults. A boss fight occurs between Jean Bison and Bentley. You order Sly to activate the many traps here to damage Jean Bison. It's a tough fight but you got to keep your distance. Not an impossible fight either. Eventually Jean Bison falls, and the Cooper gang are almost out of time.
They head for the Northern Light Battery as Apreggio's blimp is arriving. As they reach the Northern Light Battery, all they can do is wait. Eventually they get pulled up to Arpeggio's blimp. But their situation for them has gotten very dire. The Clockwerk Parts are gone and all around, they see one word: failure. But out of the 3, Murray is taking it the worst. All he can do is watch as his van floats over the horizon. That van... is his life. I feel for the guy.
Their journey continues on in Part 22.
