Smash TV Arcade Machine Comes Home!
Is this maybe the last great twin stick arcade game? Smash TV was a success when it hit arcades in 1990. Crafted by legendary talents Eugene Jarvis and Mark Turmell, it serves as a pseudo sequel to Jarvis's earlier Robotron title from 1982. Smash TV dished up a lot of violence and multiplayer mayhem for its day and was eventually ported to Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and somewhat surprisingly the NES. While the ports were fantastic at the time I've often thought it would be amazing to have Midway's twin stick shooter in all its original arcade machine glory in my basement arcade. Today is the day that Smash TV comes home.
