I don't really know what to say.

Games like these spoil me. They're like fun-sized candy bars; they're delectable, they leave you wanting more, and they go straight to your hips.

In all seriousness, games like these are what I yearn for. With the most minimal of concepts, they are able to evoke the most potent emotions. They don't try to be more than they are. They don't bother satisfying genre conditions. They don't cater to masses. They just are.

My problem with a number of triple-A games and developers these days is that even if they start off with a unique and/or interesting and/or innovative idea, that selling point becomes, well, a selling point--that is, a marketing ploy that doesn't at all meet expectations. In an attempt to appeal to the largest demographic, they water down their dream, and one game runs into the next.

But games like these don't run anywhere. They stick around long after their moment has passed. They are remembered because they have what quite a few of the more common titles don't: substance.

Games like these should be the rule, not the exception.

Guess I did know what to say.
