They haven't even announced the next games for Super Nintendo Entertainment System Switch Online's library of games for this month, so here is the next game, this is Kirby's Dream Land 3, which released in 1997 and never released in Europe until 2009 on Wii Virtual Console. Quite surprised we got that and not Kirby Super Star out of all the SNES Kirby games we had, but we should expect to see Kirby Super Star being added to Nintendo Switch Online's SNES game library at some point.
Now for the story of the game, Kirby and Gooey spend time fishing, until a dark being known as Dark Matter destroyed the rings around Planet Popstar, and Kirby sets off with his animal friends to stop King Dedede and Dark Matter.
The new mechanic to this game is that Kirby can summon Gooey to fight alongside him, but it costs one of Kirby's vitality points. The Copy Ability is once again in this game, and the animal friends from Kirby's Dream Land 2, Rick & Kine & Coo return to this game, and three new ones were added into the game, Chuchu, Pitch, and Nago. Each animal friend has different abilities, and can help Kirby out with different obstacles along the way.
You see some random characters in different levels, some of which appeared as Spirits in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and came from very obscure games, like Donbe & Hikari from Shin Onigashima, which only released in Japan, but is referenced many times in Smash Bros., and some characters, like Samus from Metroid make an appearance in one level, and there is no reference to Mario or Link in this game.
