The first midboss character in roster order enters the adventure, Bonkers and his trusty hammer will pound the competition. Hammer is a very useful power, as you can pound stakes down, as Bonker's courses in Guest Star Allies are almost like Rocky's level, as this puts the hammer to the test, and you will need Zap Hammer in order to pound stake batteries, and there are also stakes covered in ice, which is where Sizzle Hammer comes in.
As for elemental abilities, Bluster Hammer has more attributes, where Bonkers can float while using the hammer, and for Hammer Flip, he has a unique attack where he jumps and slams his hammer to the ground, while the others it is just Hammer Flip but with either icicles, water droplets, or a lightning bolt. Another thing to note is that the hammer's head will break if you charge it for too long, much like the Hammer item in Super Smash Bros. Melee where the head will fall off it and can be used as an item.
Due to Bonker's larger size, he has more health than Kirby, so he can take more hits in battle and Hammer is considered one of the best Copy Abilities in the game, the other being Fighter.

Right at the last checkpoint, while regular friends, like Blade Knight, would fight a large number of Blade Knights, and so on, for Bonkers, you instead fight Twin Bonkers, which I think is much harder than playing as characters like Blade Knight.
