● This game is good for shooting people in the head a lot, blowing stuff up and, every now and again, using stealth sprinkled with a few elements of a Hitman wannabe such as making a murder look like an accident. But essentially you will still end up shooting people in the head.

Story-wise there is not much going on, just a series of events leading to a conclusion. The characters are forgettable at best and the main villain exists through his name only for almost the entire game, which is probably the only thing you will remember about him.

The X-Ray kills though look great and the weapons feel really good as well. At your disposal you have a decent amount of firepower available, ranging from sniper rifles, submachine guns and the ever so useful suppressed pistol to optional items such as medkits, grenades or land mines and if you are lucky enough you can even find the devastating Panzerschreck lying around in the enemy camps.

The stealth is nice and works fine, but it seems that you get punished every single mission for using it. Oh, you successfully used stealth to finish the primary objective? Well, here is a totally random final objective in which you have a set amount of time to ambush a convoy; good luck with all those soldiers that you avoided killing because you wanted to take a stealthy approach. And there are also tanks and armored vehicles that the game forces you to destroy right after finishing the main objective of the mission, when the obvious step would be to just leave the area.

It feels like the game can't decide what it wants you to do. Is it stealthily infiltrate and steal documents and then escape, or massacre everyone and destroy tanks and trucks? I guess the latter because most of the final objectives involve destroying a tank or an armored vehicle or assaulting a convoy for no real reason other than being cool or whatever. I don't know what they were thinking. The game cuts the bullshit at the end though and offers a proper ending to a game that didn't have much going on for itself in terms of story anyway. The multiplayer is the redeeming factor I guess, although something which I'm not interested in.

For me, the best way to play this game it seemed to be lowering the difficulty level and just going rampage on everyone as soon as stealth fails or is not required anymore. Hey man, ain't nobody got time for loading every single time you make a tiny mistake.
