First of a handful of racing matches in Snowboard Kids for the Nintendo 64 by Atlus. Jam (MacDaddyNook), Shinobin (Duck), Nancy ( SunBurntKen http://www.youtube.com/sunburntken ) and Slash (AI) go head-to-head on the green hills of Grass Valley.

Snowboard Kids is a fun racing game for the Nintendo 64 that can be best described as Mario Kart on the slopes. While it does play like the typical kart racer, there are a few differences that make it interesting. For starters, because it is based on snowboarding, the courses are entirely downhill, meaning players cannot make their way in the wrong direction, with the exception of a few circumstances. Because of this setup, each lap ends with the players riding a ski lift back to the top of the course. The ski lift is only big enough for one character at a time, so players must be quick or else be forced to wait for the next lift, which can add additional competitiveness even when the players reach the bottom.

The key difference, however, is the item system the game employs. To be able to obtain items to use, players must build up money by collecting coins scattered on the course or performing tricks from the numerous ramps in each course. This not only gives reason to perform stunts in the game, but also requires players to be mindful of their currency and carefully choose when and where to pick up items (hitting an item box while having less than 100g will result in the character crashing).

Grass Valley is known as one of the "wackier" stages for its concept of snowboarding on the grass rather than snow. Its layout is more traditional with a few branches to mix things up.
