Brief Socom, 1, 2, 3, Combined Assault (3.5) & Socom 4 gameplay. Only missing Socom: Confrontation gameplay to make it all console versions clips of the video game.

FYI: 1 & 2 on the PS2 were similar 3rd person shooters, and 3 and 3.5/CA were the same and the only games with vehicles, and then Confrontation and Socom 4 on the PS3 were different but also similar with the shoulder view.

Killzone has replaced Socom as Sony's flag ship shooter franchise, and Zipper Interactive the developers of all the Socom games except Confrontation are out of business somehow. Likely cause Socom 4 was developed for the Move PlayStation Motion Controller and also had no server support and is offline now. Confrontation couldn't even be found on the PlayStation Network store after a couple of years had passed to be purchased cause it was not that good.

All Sony and Zipper had to do was release an HD version or just migrate the PlayStation 2 Socom servers over to the PSN. Virtually from day 1 of the PS3 release and people would still be buying and playing them to this day. Possibly one of the all time worst business decisions ever made. Sony even had a blog that let players vote and comment to bring Socom back and Sony never even responded to their own website blog that was designed to have Sony customers vote on things they wanted for the PS3. (Socom II HD) look it up, youtubers really had a campaign going for it. Ironically, Zipper brought in Socom bloggers to play Socom 4 prior to release, so they could say they did what fans wanted.
