With the effects of the stutter still active, Jack needs to hurry before any major events occur. And the only way to proceed forward is with Beth's helps. Releasing her from the stutter, the pair continue on through the gala, up towards the office where Dr. Sofia Amaral is. Upon entering the room, a Monarch drone was in position to fire. Why would Monarch try to kill their leading scientist on the project?

Rescuing the doctor from the effects of the stutter, Sofia is naturally against going with the one pursuing Paul Serene. However, Jack isn't giving her much of an option, brandishing his gun. With the doctor in captive, the stutter ends and a wave of Monarch troops rush in. Jack sticks behind to clear the way for Beth to escape with the doctor.

Now, as Paul knows that Dr. Amaral have been taken captive by Jack, the person he trusted most with the research and his life is now gone. He needs to think about how to proceed with the situation and the events at the gala. However, Martin Hatch is adamant that the traitor behind everything, the one who's been helping Jack this entire time, actually was Dr. Amaral.

That leaves Paul with a critical decision: who should he trust...?
