Solid State Scouter - synthwave remix [Bardock's Theme]
159Solid State Scouter is an insert song from one of my favorite Dragon Ball Z OAV : Bardock – The Father of Goku (1990). This TV special about Bardock is stirring and it flesh out the original manga story. It's a rare thing in the DBZ OAV world, set apart Trunks OAV, all OAV are standalone stories with a limited background.
The music appears again to be a reference to the Japanes electronic music band Yellow Magic Orchestra from the album Solid State Survivor (1979). Some part are directly sampled from the song Technopolis.
I sequenced the main parts with my Roland Fantom 06 and I used Ableton to make things more precise. To have enough polyphony I used the Fantom 06 in addition with my old friend from 2005 Roland Fantom X6 (for strings and arpeggios).
The biggest challenge for me is to mixing and mastering things well. I put so many parts that it was a bit difficult... I followed lots of tutorials to improve my skills with Ableton .
