Soloing Aksis, the final raid boss in Wrath of the Machine.

This solo challenge was INTENSE. I've soloed all the other raid bosses (Atheon, Crota, Oryx), and this was definitely the most technical and demanding solo yet. It pretty much requires little to no error, precise and very fast movements, and a huge attention to constant DPS (requires almost 12 million damage in less than 20 minutes).

Firstly, I'd like to give some huge shoutouts. ScaRdrow, my dude! GG on world's first Aksis solo kill. Your determination and persistence was key, and you really paved the way for all other solo attempts. Also, congratulations to the following people who completed this same solo (in this order): sc Slayerage, TheGrreatGatsby, Ouch My Scapula, Epicookiez, Tfue, Spartan_Nation, xKyrin, Senior Snubby, Bresko91, Esoterickk1, Jukes. All great players! And GG to anyone who completes this after me :)

At first, I underestimated how quick you actually had to be. To kill all 3 captains, kill the respective servitors, and throw all 3 charges before they disappear, or Aksis wipes you, is a crunch for time. You have very little wiggle room on all 5 phases. The entire run is pretty much a full blown speed run from beginning to end. This is what attracted me to it.

Using double solar grenades with Sunbreakers was my decision. I chose this so that my grenades could ignite Aksis and for a longer duration. I used a single flame shield. The "no shank killing" strat was first observed by me while watching Epicookiez' solo attempts. I liked the idea, as it simplified the shank phases and allowed for better control. I did make a slight alteration to this strat, though. Instead of waiting until empowerment and killing middle THEN right shanks with a scout rifle, I threw a solar grenade at middle shanks and killed right shanks with a hand cannon. This saved me just a few seconds on each phase, and allowed some wiggle room if something didn't go my way.

As I state in the video, this was my FOURTH final stand. I failed the first two because of a lack of cannon ammo, and I failed the third because I fell off the map because I suck and choked haha.

Key things to note from the video:
1) On damage phase 2, I get the swarm glitch. This is where Aksis never shoots siva swarms before empowerment. This throws off the timing of the "no shank" strat. I improvised and just moved much quicker.
2) On damage phase 3, I nearly get a Warlock jump fail after slamming into his back. My toes catch the edge and I nearly fell. Clutched the recovery though!
3) On the last damage phase, I nearly had a wipe due to middle shanks blocking the path of the servitor. I had to kill middle servitor WAY out of place and improvised my siva charge throw. I also had to be REALLY careful when picking up the charge, so that I didn't pick up the cannon.

MOST CLUTCH MOMENT OF THE RUN: On the final damage phase, I forgot to remember which cannons had 9 shots left. The first cannon I picked up had 9, so I knew that one of the remaining cannons had 8 and one had 9. Right before his third teleport, I randomly chose a cannon and it had 9 shots. I immediately swapped it with the cannon with 8 shots. This literally saved my run. I had a full 9 shots for final stand, PLUS a solar grenade.

This raid has been fucking awesome for all of us PvE competitors. Lots of challenge opportunities! Bungie, the Aksis fight is amazing. I love spending time in that arena. Keep up the good work!

Hope you all enjoy watching the run! It's sloppy at moments, but it still counts haha. Took a few days of attempts. Take care!
