I've given Through the Ages respect but always found it to be too long even with only 2 players, fiddly with its book-keeping and inferior to Nations overall. However the 4th Edition improved a lot on this formula but it was still too long for my liking and downtime was just painful with 3-4 players.

The app version has been talked about highly though and certainly looks the business. Does it warrant the high price tag and does it resolve the issues enough to make Through the Ages a game I can now play and enjoy?
