Solve Puzzles as a Dog: Sunset Hills Demo Playthrough
6A playthrough of the demo of Sunset Hills. In the playthrough, Nico arrives by train and has to find a way to Tobik Town. Once at Tobik Town, he needs to take the boat to the hotel, but a car accident is blocking the way to the docks.
I enjoyed playing the demo for Sunset Hills. I love the hand-drawn art style, and the puzzle elements to the game. I also like how all the puzzles are different from finding clues and playing carnival games to completing a portrait puzzle and baking! That said, there are a few downsides I experienced. There were several times I became stuck because I did not know how to proceed or how to complete the mini game. After finding the first clue about the car accident and getting the wrench in the drain, I was lost on what to do next. I spent so much time just wandering around the town, which I cut out of this playthrough until I realized that the alley next to the bakery was accessible. I also got stuck on the carnival mini game with the darts. I kept trying to hit the darts on the right spot at the right time, but then I found out that you could throw the darts at the dog running the game to stop the feel from spinning. I feel like a hint system in the game would be useful for times when players like myself get stuck. I also think a more thorough task list would be useful. There are several main tasks highlighted such as finding the 3 clues about the accident and going to the hotel. However, smaller tasks are not included. It would be helpful to have a task list so you can keep track of what still needs to be done. With all that said, I am curious about the full game and what it entails.
