While I think this puzzle itself was not as challenging, because there are not many moving pieces or "visual hints" as to how it can be solved, it makes you think it is much more difficult.
One thing that makes puzzles great is it is one thing to get them for yourself to challenge yourself (an avid puzzle/brain teaser solver). But it is another to have them be just difficult enough for a guest or friend to try and solve and have fun while you are hanging out. Combine that with the fact that they make nice decorations, or shelf pieces, makes them a pretty good gift for adults!
