Theia, in its recent upgrade to version 1.29.0, adopted React 18, which has breaking changes for all projects using React.

In the cloud version of the Trace Compass project – Theia Trace Extension – we found some resources and strategies that helped to make the upgrade.

This talk lists the relevant resources, presents the strategies and discusses alternatives.
