Game Boy chiptune cover of the main theme from Somewhere in Time (1980), composed by John Barry. Made using hardware-accurate GB instructions in Furnace.

This was an interesting challenge adapting such a slow, gentle piece into chiptune. The melody is so calm, and it kept gravitating towards a simpler, less flashy sound. I found myself subtracting many of the effects commands I tried, resulting in a more relaxed presentation. Also it does not use the noise/percussion channel at all, since the piece really doesn’t call for it. Thanks for listening!
