In both Sonic 2 and 3, there's an minor bug that causes Sonic, Tails or Knuckles to display the wrong animation when rolling towards an spining cylinder coming dead stop halfway through.

Normally, its soppused to play the spinning cylinder animation upon approaching one, however, the game dosen't check for the standing animation to play regardless of the cylinder's surface.

Strangely enough, despite this glitch originally found in Sonic 3 first, it also exists in the 2nd game too, most likey because of the same framework used to run both versions.
