Sonic 2 Delta v0.30 :: 100% Longplay (720p/60fps)
3,549Sonic 2 Delta (now known as Sonic Delta) is a groundbreaking series of ROM hacks by Esrael Neto, which restores several deleted levels and prototype elements to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Mega Drive. Various features of Sonic 2 Delta, common across the series despite the existence of several versions/branches of the hack, include the use of art and music from the betas and Sonic the Hedgehog and re-implementation of badniks that had been removed from the final game. The level order of Sonic 2 Delta is also similar to the original intended order, rather than that used in the final version.
The main version of this hack is entitled Sonic 2 Delta and was based upon the Simon Wai prototype, before version 0.24 transferred the codebase to ‘revision 2’ of Sonic 2 from Sonic Compilation and before version 0.29 transferred to the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles codebase. Oh boy, where do I begin..
Well for one, this just surpassed as my longest video ever created, came unexpected for real. I figured 2 hours at most was gonna be it but the fact that Sonic 3 & Knuckles was part of it after Death Egg actually amazed me lol, no wonder it said 40mb on the title screen. I knew I recognized the zone order start to finish, few sections were a bit of a blur specifically the prototype levels like Oil Ocean and definitely Metropolis.
Hear me out as well, see how I did Chemical Plant at first? Why does Tails do this kind of trolling in these kinds of bosses, I mean really though, don't you just hate when he gets a hit on Robotnik and you think you hit him, but turns out you fell in the water? Been there many times trust me lol.
Decided to go all out and go for a 100% run, not only all emeralds, but for all perfects. Plus, had some fun with some speedrun strats I learned from previous runs i've done and through various sonic runners.
BIG NOTE ~ From the start of Sonic 3 to the end, most of the audio cues before and after the boss battles & cutscenes give off some random errors, so don't mind any of that, plus the audio in the ending just randomly cut off so I decided to skip the credits.
