I discovered this while I was doing the No Ring Challenge for this level. I've seen softlocks before but this to me was mind boggling. I didn't like touching checkpoints during the No Ring Challenge because it feels like I'm cheating in a way if I touch them. I played Sonic 3 by itself afterwards and doing the same thing here lets you go through Act 2 while the game still thinks you're in Act 1.
