I made some custom Act 2 themes for the Brad Buxer/MJ Zone themes! If you didn't know, the originals weren't unique arrangements, they simply muted various channels. Compared to the beautifully-crafted remixes of the rest of the game, they stick out like a sore thumb. So I decided to fix that in Deflemask, using Aly James' TFI instrument pack (not sure if it's still out there or not). I also made it into a Sonic 3 A.I.R. mod, so check the link up there whenever it gets approved.
Ice Cap 2 obviously has even more elements from Hard Times, partially because I really like the song and partially because it makes sense. The melody in the verses is supposed to be like the added melody in Flying Battery Act 2 (with a similar instrument as well), and it doesn't perfectly match up with Hard Times like the original's chorus doesn't. Of course, I also subtly added the original melody from Hard Times into the chorus, which might be a little on the nose but I don't care. In general this one is supposed to reflect the faster pace and brighter outlook of this level, which is why the drum beat is more driving and the chords are more broad-sounding.
