Sonic 4 - Episode 2 - Boss Run (No Damage) - Part 1
817I know what you're thinking, "Wait a minute? Where's Episode 1?"
Long story short: This game's better. Far better. And more fun. I'll do Episode 1 at a later date.
Video is going to be a two parter due to sheer video length and filesize reasons.
Where to start? Well, what an improvement over Episode 1! It's beyond me why this one is getting WORSE reviews, particularly when they fixed most of the issues the first game had.
All things considered, the bosses are pretty fantastic! With the exception of the Scrap Giant... which.. was a pretty boring fight, and a bit of a waste. The rest were pretty fun.
Couple of notes:
Egg Serpentleaf
* For a first boss, this thing actually lives for some time. He's pretty easy, considering you're supposed to use Tails to get up in the air and hit him, and that just happens to be the safest place to be.
His Pinch mode is pretty hard to dodge, it's better to defeat him before he gets chance to use it, like I do in my video.
Metal Sonic
* This fight was awesome! His attacks are quite tricky to dodge. You can use the rolling attack and abuse the hit invulnerability granted for a split second by using it.
In fact, this is the only reliable way I've found to dodge Metal's pinch mode.
Scrap Mecha
Urgh. After some fairly decent starting bosses.. this is a bit crap. It LOOKS cool, but the Mecha doesn't even do anything, aside from the pinch!
Robotnik will not attack whilst there are blocks falling. Time a jump for when the last block lands, and you can prevent this boss from even attacking.
The Pinch mode is pretty difficult, it took me a few tries to get the timing down.
Walk underneath it on it's fourth hop, and immediately use the rolling combo.
You don't get long!
Metal Carrier 1:
* Hey! A mid-boss!
This isn't easy. You can either jump into the Cannoballs, or use the X Combo to reflect them back at Metal, and the timing is pretty tight.
I've found the X combo allows for easier dodging of the carrier's laser attack.
There's alot to keep track of in this fight.
This boss has no pinch mode.
Metal Carrier 2:
* This boss caused me alot of trouble when I first played the game.
Turns out, the trick is to try and stick to the middle of the area. You need to learn how to react to each laser pattern Metal can produce.
His second form is pretty damn hard to get through without taking damage - the Badniks will cause you more trouble. Avoid using the homing attack on them.
You can get a free hit on Metal before he even attacks in this phase.
The pinch is easy, keep moving right and dodge the missiles. The X Combo is the only way to damage him in this portion.
