3What is up Dreamers? So the Sonic Advance series was the first series of Sonic Games to fill me with pure rage. For this I am truly sorry but if you are like me then you will find humor in this! Hindsight really is always 20/20.
My honest opinion about Sonic Advance 2 will definitely be spelled out by the time this video is over.
There were plenty of good things about this game especially as a sequel to Sonic Advance. The real issues in this game come at the end. Just like in Sonic Advance 1, Sonic Advance 2's level design takes a complete nosedive at the end of the game.
It's not just that the difficulty curve is too much all at once, but the actual design of the levels takes a spiteful turn for the worse. Suddenly you're thrown from springs straight into spikes, and pitfalls, or horribly placed enemies.
My guess is that they ramped up the difficulty to add more longevity to the title but Sega and ALL game developers need to know that making a really short game EXTRA hard to make up for the lack of content is always a bad idea. The game seems rushed, or put together half assed.
I was literally cheering the developers until the final half when I started cursing them. The lack of coherent level design, flow and direction all seem to go way out the window when you get to the end, which is such a shame because this game had potential to be the next Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
