At last, since after finally done with Sonic Generations, (temporary on hold for now til I feel like getting a little more achievements somedays...) now I can finally get started with this next Sonic / SEGA based racing game, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on Xbox! As for Team Sonic Racing on PS4, still won't be available as our PS Plus subscription is still turned off for now until further notice for renewal soon or unless I own one for Xbox instead...
In this game, you'll be racing across many different theme worlds, several characters based on each selected Sega's games, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Jet Set Radio, Super Monkey Ball, Billy Hatcher, Skies of Arcadias, Curien Mansion (aka House of the Dead), etc., including Ralph from Disney's Wreck-it-Ralph. (truly not into Disney anymore todays, don't ask why though...)
At the start of this game title screen, there's a few selections of game modes you can choose; Career, Match Making, Custom Game, & Options. Match Making & Custom Game were probably uses for online gaming, which requires an Xbox Live Gold account to play, so those weren't needed much for these playthroughs. You can customize your settings in Options, such as how you use different controls during gameplay and adjusts your sounds and screen display, etc. There's also an license customizations too, which displays your overall stats and choose up to three stickers you can earn by fulfilling certain conditions throughout the whole game. Once you've reaches one, it'll display an colored text on screen while you're racing, meaning you've unlocked an sticker for your license, which may also unlocks some achievements for those as well.
Now for the main event of this current playthroughs; Career mode. Career mode is an single-player game mode, features few separate game modes; World Tour, Grand Prix, Time Attack, & Single Race. I were going to explains each game modes, but for right now, I'll be focusing on the main event, World Tour. World Tour is like an single-player adventure mode, where you'll travel and race across several different worlds based on each Sega classic games. Unlike the regular traditional racing style, World Tour have several different challenges you need to clear to proceed and earn stars based on what's difficulty you've chose; Easy (1 star), Medium (2 stars), & Hard (3 stars). For the first two stages on the first world, Sunshine Coast, your first challenges will be just a regular race, which you can earn stars based on each difficulty you chose and which place you need to finish with, such as up to 3rd place for both easy and medium, while for hard, you have be 1st place in the final lap. After choosing both a stage and difficulty, you have a total of 10 starting characters to choose across each of their own series, including Ralph himself as an starting guest. Each characters have their own levels, so you can level up each one at a time to unlock certain things, such as mods. Few mods were unlockable by playing through World Tour than just levelling up a character each, so keep a lookout for them too. Also one more thing, you also need to collect many stars as you can, as there's a gate that requires a total amounts of stars you've earned across each stages in World Tour by not just accessing to another stages, but also unlocking more characters, mods, and gain access to a new worlds.
