Since Sonic & Knuckles initially released with a Lock-On Technology, where attaching Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 or Sonic The Hedgehog 3 would determind what ROM boots up on the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis.
