Usually 3D Sonic fangames leave me very skeptical, especially if they use the Infinity Engine (I have my issues with that framework), so I was kind of weary when diving into this Sonic fangame too. Fortunately, this one uses the Bumper Engine instead so that already is a plus, as well as Sonic Encore leaving a positive impression, though not without some criticism.
The good things first, it's the level design. It's pretty great all things considered and utilizes Sonic's momentum pretty good, as well as having a good sense of direction. Not to mention, the levels themselves look pretty gorgeous too.
The thing I don't like though is the movement is kind of janky, from the running animation to how Sonic controls mid air or trying to brake. Holding back while midair doesn't slow down his jump arc gradually, but instead makes Sonic turn in a circle akwardly facing the other direction. Even when trying to brake on the ground, Sonic just sometimes turns instead. I don't know if it's inherent to the Bumper Engine (I know Sonic GT had this problem too, but not to this extent or maybe I'm remembering wrong). Makes platforming, low or high speed feel unpredictable at times.
That said, this is still pretty good and do recommend you check it out and I hope to see more of it in the future.
