Sonic.exe Restarting The Game One More Time (Repixeled)

I'm not sure why I'm playing this. I guess I wanted to see this "Knuckles preview" and the newly added checkpoints
Turns out Pixel has completely broken the game with the inclusion of the checkpoints and I can't wrap my head around how
My only guess is the checkpoints save your spawn point even after the level has changed which results in you being placed out of bounds
As for the hiding spots, specifically the triangular spiked bushes, not working, I have no conceivable idea
It's not a huge deal since the game isn't particularly fun to begin with, therefore I do not care, but thank god for the level select that I discovered on accident since I try the sonic 1 code on everything
