Sony Bloggie MHS-TS10 Firmware v1.05 autofocus comparision, before and after
Hello viewers.
In this video I will show you the well criticized autofocus of the Sony Bloggie Touch series and the firmware update that was released by Sony to improve it. That and make formatting easier. And touching.
To test it, I hold a stopwatch watch in front so you smart people can determine how long it takes for it to focus, and then upgrade the firmware and see what happens after the upgrade from v1.03 to v1.05.
For those on the go and don't have time to watch all of the video here's a short version: It's still a tough buy for some people. Depending on your purpose, you may hate this camera and it's easily to hate.
Even after the last firmware update the autofocus, despite being decent with stationary footage and while on the move, still "pulses". If you intend to use this camera 'webcam style' (camera is fixed, subject sits in front of camera and talks) you or your viewers may be annoyed with the video as it continues to attempt autofocusing on your face. This, among with other minor annoyances such as EU laws and technology forcing the video clips not to exceed 29:59 minutes as ordinary operation, unability to record video while charging via USB (automatically goes into mass storage), the pathetic naming "2 hour, 4 hour, etc", digital zoom (you what mate), this camera will continue to satisfy only very specialized purposes. I won't discuss this in this video but in a future review I plan on doing so. Thankfully for my specialized purpose as a dashboard camera it satisfies. If you want to capture family moments for years to go, I'd just get a Handycam.
If you have any questions I will answer them to the best of my ability as long as they're not simpleton "Would you recommend this camera?" type ones. Because the answer depends.
