I asked my grandfather to sing a punto cubano (also known as a punto guajiro) to my daughter. It's something he loves to do so I figured it would be something really special to capture for her. (Even though she's too young so she goes away crying) He first sings a couple verses he made up for her, then two "standards".

Punto Guajiro or Punto Cubano is one form of Cuban country music. It's generally a mix of improvisation and prepared verse sung about a particular person. You might hire or ask someone to sing one about a person on his birthday or perhaps for a wedding couple.
