Same results if somewhat quicker perhaps. A real game changer might be a similar fight in atmosphere... if we locked Akimbo to one spot, as he has no joints to turn. Build system entirely off would yield the same if even quicker (due to the incredible amount of power to Akimbo's shields giving him a very distinct advantage against much larger ships.)

His weakness is speed related, and that is natural for something so heavy. There isn't really enough room internally to make him as fast as most ships. That said he has a jump drive and an FTL drive for impulse as well as maneuvering thrusters via star trek style impulse thrusters.

Akimbo isn't particularly special or unique, he suffers from being just shy of 5,000,000 KG and being on wheels, so the thrusters are actually almost a prerequisite for his motion. We were shooting for something almost Battletech/Robotech in scale, so our hinge options are largely inadequate. Likewise trying to make him walk on regular legs would be foolish as the feet just break at this weight. I have seen other players make large mechs that can walk by utilizing an unbreakable foot schema but I don't see any advantage in doing that. His height would be a strong deterrent even after shifting gyros to prevent tipping, which we've managed to avoid on this build.

I could make the torso turn, or articulated arms, but then the biggest drawback is, "That becomes the bullseye weakness." On other mechs I had more articulation and it's neat when parts get blown off but against starships that seems somehow unwarranted as the articulation offered by the weapons is more than adequate.

He was a quick build, maybe an hour tops. The goal was put down as much artillery as possible on a frame that could fly somewhat, maneuver well enough, and at need roll along like a tank. Internally he has 2 full scale warp cores, 2 aux cores, about 10 old school gyros, a jump drive, an ftl frive, a few seats, a few beds, a few kitchens and bathrooms, i.e. the usual.

Outside he has rail guns, missiles, machine guns, mortars, lasers, polaron weapons, phasers, photon torpedos, and a few cannons. I figure it might serve in an operational role against starship incursion or against smaller mechs as a boss.

He might become a training tool against my starships I have to see how that goes first as the AI is somewhat limiting on weapons.
