Space Engineers: Dropping In The Deep End (Uncooperative Survival Guest Appearance)
When w4sted invited me to join him and the Uncooperative Survival team on this week's stream, a few ideas passed through our minds on how to have me show up. What eventually got settled on would be me flying a fighter with a play on words off of one of Lucas' "Corruption" ship names ("Please don't shoot - I'm here to help!")
That necessitated a bit of pre-work since I'd be having to fly something through what could be quite dangerous space, and the folks of FarWorks Industrial Worlds had just finished putting the wraps on a very low powered shield fighter that was itching for a companion ship of sorts.
Enter the I-472 "Claymore" shield fighter, though against the Corruption ships it is more of a manned decoy. She's designed to fly the usual three-axis avoidance patterns that drive the SE AI nuts so that you only get glancing blows to allow other ships to get a crippling shot in.
Unfortunately, in Space Engineers, the weakest design element is always the engineer sitting at the controls. Despite that, the design seemed to hold up rather well.
This is my PoV on the confusion my arrival brought to the world. :)
Be sure to check out w4stedspace's PoV of the full Uncooperative Survival stream!
