Space Engineers - improved meteor defence / turret target selection
TGP's AboutToViolateMySpace filtering behavior.
Vanilla turret AI is awful especially when relied onto at meteor defense. Turrets are eager to shot anything what moves in range, often failing and wasting tons of ammo while other 5 meteors hit your grid having been totally ignored.
The idea is to analyze trajectories of linear moving objects and prohibit AI turrets to waste time/ammo on them if they are not potentially violating grids' "personal space".
Each tick it gathers data from AI turrets, extrapolates known targets positions, once we know they're moving without any acceleration and aren't intersecting grid's bounding box - we force each turret to "forget" about them.
This approach is very handy in scenarios like point defense vs inertial slugs and useful in survival for meteor handling.
