Pretty charming, surprisingly easy, rather grindy.
Sparklite has a rather cute premise, with gorgeous pixel art and mostly melee-based combat. It's actually on the easier side of things roguelite-wise, though I do admit to losing my fair share of runs due to ineptitude on my part. I feel like this is a decent stepping stone to getting your feet wet in top-down twin-stick roguelites.
It doesn't hide the repetitive room layouts anywhere near as well as The Binding of Isaac, though - and the upgrade progression, while a nice touch, is also rather grindy, necessitating a lot of failed runs before you can amass a sizable amount of upgrades.
