Spears and Spells Alpha Playtest with ThegnThrand
4This weekend I did a playtest in my upcoming TTRPG "Spears and Spells" (Working Title) and I managed to get ThegnThrand to participate. He streamed the game on his Twitch channel and gave me permission to harvest the stream and upload it to YT. Join myself, Thrand, Bunbun299, Arroz_Autista, and TearsofLostSocks as we put my upcoming TTRPG system to the test.
The test is a simple cavern filled with lizard people who captured a princess and players were given a choice of one of ten pre-made characters each designed to test specific types of builds/various mechanics of the game. The next playtest will hopefully be soon-ish and involve the players making their own characters.

As a footnote, I cannot express how much of a pain game design can be nor can I express just how absolutely awesome it is to see everything you have built come together exactly as you intend it to. This session was an absolute blast and the system worked so absolutely perfectly. Everything I set out to have happen works exactly as I hoped and the best part is the freedom the system provides encouraged the players to be creative (Though it may be a combination of the characters I setup being built for shenanigans, my players being creative, and my DM style lending itself to "rule of cool" as much as the system itself). I can't wait to see this thing get far enough along that I can send out the rules and see how others run it and the mech system (Which might be far enough along to be published in some capacity honestly).
