Special Demonstrations #18: Leiria -Stargazer- (Hard Mode - twilightex, 3.70bil ALL + TLB, Type A)
26These are the Special Demonstrations, a series of high quality replays by some of the best shooting game players out there, donated by the players themselves. As with the past SD releases, the motto is "great players deserve high quality replays", and I hope to continue that with every successive release.
The series is captured by the players themselves, and the raw footage is then processed by myself using Final Cut Pro X, Motion and Compressor into something that hopefully resembles a commercial replay release.
Not long ago, I was watching and chatting with Hellsinker. WR holder twilightex playing Espgaluda 2 live on his stream on Twitch, and knowing how much he enjoys that game, and his passion for doujin shooters, I suggested he look at Leiria -Stargazer-, a game by Nonlinear which is very heavily inspired by Espgaluda, because I felt that he'd probably enjoy it. And so he did.
Over the course of a couple of months, I noted that he was playing it a lot more frequently, and making some rapid progress in the game, and made a mental note to watch to see if he could hit his target of 3.5bil ALL in Hard Mode, which to my memory is the highest known score achieved in the game. Not long after the beginning of this year, he not only hit it, but blew right past it and into 3.7bil territory.
I then asked him if he'd be interested in working on a commented replay for this awesome little game, and he agreed, so we set to work on putting together the replay for your enjoyment!
Leiria is a brilliant little game which deserves more visibility, and twilightex has done things I haven't seen any other player do in the game so far, so I'm very happy to present a great little replay of his strategies for posterity. Hopefully this will encourage more people to pick this game up - best thing is, it was also released as freeware by Nonlinear, so you can go and nab it from their homepage: https://n-linear.org/stargazer/
