In this video, I am playing a rare pinball game from Bally called Spectrum released in 1981. Spectrum is essentially a pinball version of the board game called Mastermind which was released in 1970 and created by a telecommunications expert, Mordechai Meirovitz.
The object of Spectrum is to guess the correct combination of colors that reset after each game. There are a total of 4 colors in the combination (red, green, blue, yellow). The player can "guess" a color by completing individual bank of drop targets. If the color is wrong, it will be lit solid on the playfield. If it's guessed correctly, it will be flashing on the playfield.
Players can only get clues by hitting 1 of 3 saucers. Some clues will make the correct bank of drop targets flash indicating to the player the correct color. If you can break the code you become a superstar!
