Contrary to what one might assume, I am actually talking about spelunky when I'm mad in this episode, if ben is reading this I am actually enjoying the game, I'm legitimately frustrated after throwing out a recording of spelunky 2 I just recorded before this because I didn't make it to 1-3 the entire time. spelunky 2 is actually one of the best games I played in 2020 but I am still extremely frustrated whenever I play it, cause when you make one mistake you can't recover EVER. in the first spelunky it was so much more forgiving! if you had a cape on and got knocked unconscious it activated the cape and made you fall slower. if you got hit by a tiki trap in the jungle you could get back up before it hit you again. I went back and played spelunky 1 the other day and every run went great! whenever I made a mistake it only cost me one HP instead of the entire health bar. I'm so incredibly frustreated by spelunky 2, even though I only have one achievement left to get (technically 2 but one of them is "the complete spelunky" which is just get every achievement in the game) I dread getting it. for anyone wondering the last achievement is "millionaire" which you obviously just need to get a score of 1 million at the end of the run. my best run ended 4050 away from the million and I never returned to try again. do you realize how close that is in this game!? that's like 6 gold bars in neo bab! (that's the floor I was on btw, I got crushed by an elevator) what's more, defeating tiamat awards you with 100K so you really only need to get to 900K and then beat tiamat. I was fully in the clear! my run ended on 6-3 which is the level right before tiamat, and since I had a shotgun and bombs I could've EASILY beat her and just gotten the millionaire, but no, my pidgeon brain ran straight forward into the elevator and died. elevators don't care how much HP you have, to be fair the elevator is a bit larger than your character and made entirely of metal, so it makes sense, but come on! I barely get pinched and my entire run is dead! it's gonna take me a while to go back to spelunky 2 after that one, which is why I didn't upload a spelunky 2 episode last saturday. I was still cooling off. I'm getting back into it though. anyways, how are you doing? if you made it this far into my text you must really be committed to reading it. if you made it this far in you should type "haha yeah man" in the comments. seeing people type that there would really be funny to me, and would definitely make me smile. anyways, I have to end off the description with more of me complaining about spelunky because people are more likely to read the top and bottom of the description anyways. so if we go back to talking about what happened in this episode, I'm so infuriated! the drops just weren't there and (spoiler alert for people who haven't watched the episode yet) my best run was the one where I was mega cursed! I really had nothing going for me but somehow I still continued pretty far. it's really strange to me how I suddenly got so bad at spelunky 2, I used to be pretty OK I thought, but once I got "no gold" and "speedlunky" all of my skill went out the window. if anyone knows what I can do to get my mojo back I think that would at least be fun to see.

Spelunky 2 is a game about spelunking down into a cave to get mad loot and save your parents I think?
