Spelunky Race (to hell, if we can make it)
61Here are 3 out-of-practice Spelunky players and 1 Catsworth, ready to charge into various sharp objects and explosions while we go for a hell victory. Note: It is fixed here in post already, but I had twinge and psych's names backwards for a few minutes and mention it when I fix it.
For those unfamiliar with this game, the requirement to get to hell is quite a run-around: Our first step is to find the black market in the jungle (world 2). This task is made easier by unlocking the chest in the first areas; giving an item that beeps when we're close to the black market entrance.
Once in the black market, we need to buy or steal an ankh for an extra life, and use it to die + resurrect on a specific stage in the ice caves area to get a special hat. Combining this item with Anubis' scepter retrieved from 4-1 will allow us open a door on 4-2 to enter the city of gold, where the book of the dead is available.
With the book in hand, we can identify where the gate to hell is underneath Olmec. Carefully digging the way down, we have to use Olmec as a temporary platform to get into the hell door safely. Once we've gotten this far, it's just a matter of beating the actual final boss, Yama.
