Sphere Flying Cities is a futuristic city management sim. Earth has been decimated by the destruction of the moon and now the last remnants of humanity are barely surviving on floating cities.

The game is very simple compared to other city management sims. The mechanics are very straight forward and are not really entangled with others. This may be a positive or negative depending on what kind of experience you are looking for.

Moving on, the game has mechanics very similar in concept to Frostpunk. At the center of the city is the antigrav device that also generates a protective shield. As your city grows larger, you can expand the shield to protect more buildings but doing so requires more power. In order to produce more power, you need to build and man more power plants. In order to man more power plants, you need to find more people. Thankfully, finding people is an easy task.

In order to find more people, you scan your surroundings. Scanning will show whether or not adjacent locations have resources or people. You then select your destination and fly to it. Some areas will have hazards that will damage buildings not protected by the shield. For resources, your drones will automatically collect it once you turn them on. For people, you have the option to take on all of them, half of them, or none.

The balancing act of keeping your survivors alive is pretty simple in this game. You just need housing, food, and medical treatment and this is quite a simple task. In order to unlock more advanced buildings, you need to collect enough resources to complete research.

Overall, Sphere Flying Cities is a pretty relaxing experience. It's simplicity and accessibility make it a very enjoyable and stress free experience where you can just focus on building up your city. The only downside is the lack of things to do in the game other than building up your city. It's a pretty repetitive and simple game play loop. The tutorial can be a little confusing at first but once you tinker around you'll get the hang of the game pretty quickly. Also, I would recommend rotating the camera upwards by pressing the PG DN key as the default starting camera angle makes it difficult to see anything.
