Finally managed to prove this is actually possible.

Basically since I started running this game I'd been suspecting that standing on the tiny quicktime-event trigger as it spawns would trigger the event, thus skipping a bit of tutorial guy talking.

Very precise, but also not random, so there's probably a way to learn to do this consistently. The tutorial just went sub-2 minutes. EDIT: Found a consistent setup, will feature a SSES in my next run.
