While studios like Nintendo and Square-Enix are starting to backlist activists publications who try to influence their creative projects, Insomniac has allowed gaming publications to influence the sequel. The games director promises that there will be less police activity or police related missions in the game even though Spider-Man's MO has always been to catch the bad guys and let the police do their jobs. Not to mention the brand power of the Spider-Man franchise as well as the sales of the first game guarantee success for sequel with or without the police so this entire decision just feels cowardly as there was little the game media could do to derail this game, especially after the Hogwarts Legacy debacle.
