So the reasoning behind the title is that I got a new controller finally so I can stop complaining about how its always drifting on its own and kind of just annoying... I probably still complained a lot. Also, I actually had bought 2 controllers that day, the first one I got only lasted about 4 minutes or something before I noticed holding down wasn't actually going all the way so any retreating would have just been pointless.
