September 3rd, 2007, 20km from Akureyri, Iceland
Splinter Cell are sending two operatives in on this mission, Sam will lead John into a facility to conduct a recon mission as intel suggest there has been unusual activity in the area recently.
The agents a dropped into the water and use the tunnels to get into the facility. John takes it upon himself to neutralise one of the guards to impress Sam but all this does is show he is a liability on this mission.
Sam locates the power source for the electric fence and disables it without alerting any guards. The agents now climb over the fence and breach the outer perimeter, using the cables they slide deeper into the facility and prepare to get inside the main complex.
Lambert gives John an assignment, he is to get the one of the air turbines shut down so that Sam can infiltrate the building. John completes his task but gets over zealous and decides to enter the facility himself.
Sam continues on mission whilst maintaining stealth, he enters the building and watches on as John is caught and shot dead on the spot. This has now escalated the situation and excelled the timeframe as the facility goes into high alert.
With only 6 minutes to spare, Sam must somehow stop the missile launch. Lambert tells Sam that he can only tamper with the missiles guiding system and that he needs to reach the lower part of the missile to access the control panel.
With all his skills and agility, Sam manages to gain access to the guidance system and is able to tamper with it, he now only has about a minute to escape. Sam climbs back up and uses a ladder to reach the rope that is dropped from the extraction chopper.
