This run uses a new technique called "Roll in Air". When you glide into a body of water from the side and leave the level, you get into a state where you can roll and flame like you're on land, but float around like you're underwater. This is used to save 2300 gems over the previous route and all 40 orbs. Though there is a skip into Crush's Dungeon, all 14 Talismans are required to unlock the Gulp's Overlook door, which is currently necessary to beat the game.
