After installing my fourth SSD (Samsung 850 Evo) in my Thermaltake Core P5 case, I thought of doing some benchmark tests again. I want to compare the performance of my new 850 Evo with the 850 Pro, the Crucial MX100 and the M4.

When I do benchmark tests, I like to compare results in the same system, which is what I am doing here; same motherboard, same processor, same SATA hardware and driver, same Windows and even same SATA cables. We need to eliminate as many variables as possible to get meaningful results. In fact, Samsung Magician gives this NOTE: "Test results may vary based on hardware/software configuration".

I am posting results from AS, CrystalDiskMark and Samsung Magician but I also ran benchmarks using Sandra and PCMark to compare.

I still have a little mystery with my old Crucial M4... I invite you to look at the benchmark results and comment below. I am puzzled!

I said in the video that benchmarks on the 850 Pro and 850 Evo will vary based on the SSD size but for MB/s figures, the specs are the same.

The calculation of the Score in the AS benchmark results is performed as follows:
Total Score = SeqW*0.15 + SeqR*0.1 + 4kR*2 + 4kW + 4k64W + 4k64R*1.5

Don't miss my videos on the Thermaltake Core P5 build and on the Samsung 850 Evo installation!

As always, thank you everyone for watching and have a great day!
