3SSX (Snowboard Supercross) a.k.a エクストリーム・レーシング SSX (X-treme Racing SSX) is the first in a series of snowboarding video games published by EA Sports BIG. It was the first game to be published under the brand, which specializes in extreme sports titles with an unrealistic or arcade feel. As such, the game's exaggerated jumps, highly decorated mountain runs and improbable tricks make it a classic example of an EA Sports BIG title. It was developed by EA Canada and released with the launch of the PlayStation 2 on October 26, 2000. It was widely regarded by critics as one of the best PS2 launch games, thanks to its depth, gameplay, and graphics. The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences awarded SSX with 5 awards, including "Console Sports Game of The Year" and "Racing Game of The Year". The Executive Producer and creative leader of SSX was Steve Rechtschaffner, who was also the inventor of the now Olympic snowboard event called Boardercross, which served as the inspiration for the game.

Aloha Ice Jam is a course that made its debut in SSX (2000). Initially the final track of the SSX world circuit, the course recognized for it being carved out from a massive iceberg, its tropical vibes, and intense jumps & turns.
It also appeared in SSX Tricky but with some changes. Two of the most notable changes between the two games is the layout of the grandstands near the starting line, and the shortcut pipes near the middle of the hill being see through rather than wooden and colourful.

Hiro Karamatsu is a character from the SSX series who made his debut in SSX (2000) which would be his only legitimate appearance in the SSX series (his cheat character appearance in SSX 3 doesn't count).
A strong-willed loner and bleeding-edge technological innovator, Hiro pushes himself and his gear beyond the limits to win at all costs.
