With good weather and plenty of daylight, I decide to go to an abandoned compound, that is down a dirt road, south of the Grain Elevator. When I get there, I see the body of a dead Loner with Dogs eating him. I go inside the compound and get on the roof of a vehicle, to hopefully provide some protection. I see Dogs all over the place and a whole pack of them takes down another Loner. I shoot as many as I can and then climb a nearby watchtower, where I get a better view of the entire complex. I get down and go into a building, up to the second-floor roof, where the last of the Dogs follow me and I finally get them.

There are some meager supplies inside the two-story building, and I find an activated stash on my PDA, that I go up on some metal framework to access. Another building has supplies in it, but I don't figure out how to get in yet. My HUD alerts to something, and I figure it is more Dogs, so I go ahead and leave the abandoned complex and head back to the Grain Elevator, where I deal with more enemies and realize I am spending the night safely inside of it. All night long, passing I.P.S.F. soldiers patrol the grounds and meet their demise.
