within minutes of playing this game using the Warp , I have nausea, in fact 30 minutes after a 17 minute gaming session I still have nausea... what I found with the Rift is playing without the Warp using Tridef gives me markedly less nausea..you can see that in my videos for ARMA III , Bioshock Inf that are over an hour long .. This then is the Rift's greatest hurdle for me, 5 or so months into physically studying it and over a year or so of hassling/questioning the developers (hey P) and hypers. Is the nausea caused by this wide FOV single display HMD design a function of that design?. It cannot be fixed by some phantom 4K version.. but through many hundreds of hours trying I find that it can be mitigated by software...note mitigated ..the hmd will only become mass market when casuals and not just people TVRKing for their supper can use these devices...A non warped test to follow as soon as I recover from my Rift Nausea... which I am blaming for misnaming the game Star Control in the titles (gotta love the classics) ,, The game Star Conflict itself is insane .. this is what makes PC gaming so different ..that something of this quality can be F2Play... I am currently just testing out head tracking using the Zeiss head tracker and 3D play with HMDs to see how the way I play changes ..every twist between those structures is achieved through a head movement , as is tracking the bad guys ..you will see me slow down the Zeiss head tracker in the video as it is so sensitive ... absolutely no calibration ...just plug and play .. I would have been in the game too ..but my face cam died whilst I was using the Rift ..and since you can't see out ... well you get the picture...next time...
