Star Ocean 5 - Ethereal Queen (6 Wings - Galaxy)
This is the strongest enemy you'll encounter in the game. The divine one herself, the Ethereal Queen at full power. Every time I recorded this, there were some bad audio and visual glitches. After like 6 tries, I just gave up and used the Share function to tie my two videos together. I spent half of the day beating the Ethereal Queen over and over just to have ~ 2 minutes of messed up visuals to show for it. I did it so many times that I got lazy with my setups and forgot to set them correctly.
Ethereal Queen (Divinities)
HP: 129,600,000 (Let the fun begin.)
MP: 83,600,000
ATK: 6309
DEF: 3758
INT: 4874
MEN: 3523
Elemental Affinities:
Fire: 20
Ice: 5
Earth: 10
Wind: 10
Light: 20
Dark: 5
In her true 100% final form, just like I guessed, her fire spell is upgraded to Explosion. It's still a guaranteed kill on whoever it hits. She seems a wee bit more aggressive and likes to combo in Divine Wave with her attacks. She drops the individual buff spells for the vastly superior Angel Feather, which she can use with what seems like no cast time. There are times where she even casts it twice, so be sure to dispel it. Her attacks are slightly stronger, but the attacks that are going to kill you will still do that, only now a little quicker.
Supernova's still going to annihilate you. Celestial Star will still drop you faster than a Dark Souls boss. Although I'm not sure if this is a bonus of having the 6 winged mode, Celestial Star inflicts curse and paralysis.
Honestly, this fight isn't even that hard. God Slayer carries you HARD through this fight. After playing with some augmentations, I found the -damage from divinites stack. So at -70%, Fidel can just truck through Supernova with no problem...though I wouldn't try two in a row. Considering Empress Massacre doesn't combo half the time and Celestial Star is easily avoided, you have nothing to worry about. The only augmentations I bothered to put on was the reserve gauge+7 and the critical bonus - since I had a file saved before the Ethereal Queen, I just ran whatever I felt like. I've gotten used to hearing the critical noise now.
Since I wanted to beat her quickly, I abused some reserve rushes. (I never did really use them in the main story.) Turns out that using a reserve rush cures your abnormal statuses, so anytime Fidel got stunned, I just used Ethereal Blast to keep up the damage.
Another tidbit I noticed - Celestial Star is the only attack that the Ethereal Queen has to actually motion for. She stands there for ~ 10 seconds after she starts the attack. If you trigger Celestial Star by doing a light attack she can guard, you can get in free hits without her going crazy. Emmerson's Red Rain is an set as a "x" special, so with the 9 shots fired, she has a good chance to block one. Though, while Celestial Star is ending, she can still do Supernova to gather those around her and send them flying, but hey, you should expect that by now.
